The volunteer season in the Prioksko-Terrasny Reserve will end soon! October broke temperature records, warm in the afternoon, as in summer, and of course we could not help but take advantage of this pleasant gift of weather!
At the end of last week two organized volunteer groups came to us. On Friday, October 12th, 29 volunteers from Smith-nephew, a large international corporation engaged in the manufacture of medical equipment, dressings and personal care products, gathered on a volunteer day.

From this company, volunteers have already come to us on September 7th. Only this time, employees came from production located in the city of Pushchino, Moscow Region.
Arrived immediately divided into four teams. Three groups helped to clear the clearances in the eastern quarters of the reserve, and one was tasked to carry out landscaping of 41 cordons.

Thanks to friendly efforts, several kilometers of clearings were cleared of dead trees. This is very important for the reserve, as it facilitates patrolling the area, and during the fire-dangerous period it allows special equipment to pass into hard-to-reach places.

The next volunteer landing were children from Protvino. On Saturday, October 13, students of Secondary School No. 3 arrived at the Central Estate of the Reserve. The team was selected uneven and very energetic. The volunteers worked cheerfully and noisily, cleared the fallen leaves from the approaches to the high-altitude ecological path “Through the foliage” and the ecological park “Tree-House”, collected several buckets of acorns for feeding bison.
