The Reserve Has Presented a Stand on the ECOTECH Exhibition

The Prioksko-Terrasniy State Natural Biosphere Reserve named after Mikhail Zablotskiy took part in the international ECOTECH exhibition and forum which was held in Moscow from 26 to 29 of April, 2016. 

Such a high level event was organized by the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. The official motto of the event sounded as “The green economy is a foundation for sustainable development!”

The ECOTECH business program was very busy. The exposition of the exhibition covered all the environmental issues: water, air, refuses, land resources, energy saving, “green” standards, eco-transport, forest resources, urban environment, eco-monitoring and control and eco-services.

A plenary session on the subject “Green technologies as a new benchmark of economy growth” took place on the first day of forum.

The key points of the second day became the strategic aspects of eco-agenda and industrial ecology?. The state and business representatives tried to find solutions for providing favorable environment in urban areas. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment held a board session in the ECOTECH framework on April 27.

On April 28 there was time for discussions, forecast-sessions and round-table discussions. The final day was devoted to the eco-tourism development and eco-education with a round-table discussion “Eco-tourism in Russia and specially protected natural areas:the present and the future” being held with the participation of the executives of the Ministry departments, the heads of the natural reserves and national parks of Russia and tourist agencies representatives.

The ECOTECH exposition introduced the successful practices of eco-technologies implementation in the industry of different economy branches. These eco-technologies mainly deal with decrease of pollutant emissions, reduction of waste production, natural resources saving, etc. Over several thousands of people got acquainted with the Prioksko-Terrasniy Reserve exhibition stand. The only Biosphere Reserve of the Moscow region was represented in the exhibition by our experts from the department of eco-awareness and educational tourism, Olga Kalinina, Tatiana Demina, Svetlana Ivonina and Kristina Safonova.
