The photo exhibition was opened for the visitors

On August 7, in the Small Hall of the Russian State Library for Youth, the opening of the photo exhibition “Prioksko-Terrasny State Reserve: 70 years of keeping the gene pool of Russian bison” was held.
On the opening day of the exhibition, the specialists of the Environmental Education and Tourism Department of the Reserve held a presentation about the history of the reserve and the creation of the Central Bison Nursery.
Since the first bison arrived on November 21, 1948, for 70 years the reserve has been working to preserve these amazing animals.

At the exposition you can see rare and little-known black and white photographs from the reserve archive, and, of course, modern color photos.
After the presentation, a small quiz was held, attentive listeners easily answered all the questions of the organizers and received memorable souvenirs as a reward. The complexity of responding to questions was caused only by the number of species of mammals living in the reserve. Many of our listeners remembered even the species of spiders and plants inhabiting the reserve, and to our surprise the figure 57 – the number of species of mammals living in the reserve was forgotten.

Mikhail Rodionov’s film “Four Seasons of the Moscow Region Forest” was an excellent end to the event.
For all those who did not have time to visit the opening – you have a great opportunity to visit the exhibition on any other day.
The exhibition is open until 03.09.2018.
Free admission. The address of the venue: Bolshaya Cherkizovskaya st., 4, bldg. 1 (metro station “Preobrazhenskaya Ploshchad”)
