The team of the Prioksko-Terrasny Reserve participates in the final forum of the anniversary year and the exhibition “ECOTECH” .

From December 12 to December 14, 2017, the Fifth All-Russian Congress on Environmental Protection and the International Exhibition and Forum “Ecotech” are taking place in Moscow at the Crocus Expo International Exhibition Center.

The forum was opened by Sergey Ivanov, special envoy of the President of the Russian Federation on environmental protection, ecology and transport, Sergei Donskoy, Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation. Among the speakers at the opening of the congress were Olga Timofeeva, Vice Speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Burmatov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Ecology and Environmental Protection of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation; Nikolai Kasimov, Dean of the Faculty of Geography of Moscow State University; Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences; Chairman of the Public Council of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia. Representatives from all regions of Russia, including directors and employees of our protected areas, gathered at the congress.

The exhibition “ECOTECH” is one of the main sites in Russia for solving the issues of environmentally sustainable development of the planet and presentation of Russian and foreign innovative environmental developments, as well as the exchange of experience on the development of “green” technologies. The purpose of the exhibition “Ecotech” is the concentration of efforts for the systemic solution of the issues of the planet’s well-being: environmental development; developing responses to global threats; synchronization of efforts of leading expert organizations in the field of environmental protection and the formation of a “green” economy.

Participants of the forum-exhibition “Ecotech” are representatives of the authorities, international and Russian business community, international organizations for environmental protection; science community; technological leaders and innovators; goodwill ambassadors to the UN.

This year, the event is attended by 10,000 participants in the business and exhibition program, which occupy 12,000 square meters of exhibition space. 300 speakers present their presentations. 150 international and Russian media cover this event.

Prioksko-Terrasny Reserve also took part in the exhibition “Ecotech”. Our stand, telling about the nature of the reserve, about the work of the Central Bison nursery, about our tourist and environmental education programs, was not lost among the stands of other areas, reserves and enterprises. And of course, not the last role in this belongs to our famous Bison, and this time conquered the visitors.

Throughout the day, our persistent volunteer in a Zubr costume posed with visitors a dozen times. And visitors were vividly and with great interest to ask our employees about where our reserve is, how one can get there, what animals live there. The topic of bisons excited everyone, our guests were interested in how our pets live, how many they are, how they tolerate the harsh winter and even eat meat!

The work of our stand, the answers to the questions of its visitors became a real ecological and educational event! We very much hope that new knowledge about the nature of our nature reserve, about the bison nursery will bring to us new tourists and even new volunteer assistants! After all, the upcoming 2018 is devoted to volunteer work, invaluable for all our reserves and national parks.
