Fresh blood in the reserve: four more baby-bisons were born last week.
The babies feel fine and actively move after their mothers, while they carefully feed the babies and never leave them in case they need more milk. They take care of their babies with a lot of love by licking them clean.
The baby-bisons birth is always an important event for the reserve. Female bisons give birth only once in two or three years, as they bear babies for nine months and take care of them till they are at least a year old. Only after that the female could be ready for the new progeny. Thanks to the care and nutrition they receive in the reserve, new babies appear every year.
In the wild bisons are polygamous, which means one male can be shared by a few females. Males fight for this right with their horns and sometimes even their life.
