The first volunteer day of 2016 was held in the Prioksko-Terrasniy Reserve on the Earth Day, April 22.

The representatives of national and regional mass media and public organizations, the Moscow State University staff and students, a representative of the scientific department at the U.S. Embassy and partner companies’ staff all came to work for nature good.

The volunteers helped to demolish an old shed, cleared away branches, arranged a recreation area and planted about 300 willow seedlings in the Bison Breeding Centre. After the day of hard work all the volunteer day participants had a pleasant surprise waiting for them. They became the first visitors to the five meter high viewing platform from which they could admire a view on American and European bisons enclosures.

— We traditionally opened the volunteer season on the first day of the international action “March for Parks”— shared the deputy director of the reserve on eco-awareness, development and tourism Svetlana Rodionova. — After May holidays we hold the cleaning weekends regularly, usually once in two weeks. The timetable will soon be published at the website. The reserve staff thanks all the volunteers for help and calls everyone interested to join the volunteer movement.
