Flowering in late spring

Time passes, summer is coming soon. The most heat-loving plants begin to bloom. This year everything happens earlier than ten days than last year. Today we will tell you about plants blooming in late spring.

Paris quadrifolia The plant has a distinctive appearance, you will recognize it immediately. It has four broad oval leaves that extend from one point of the stem. The plant forms only one flower. This happens only in a few plants. Blossoms crow’s eye at the end of spring, but flowering usually goes by nobody not noticed. The flowers do not stand out, they have a nondescript greenish color, they do not attract much attention. This is a poisonous plant. Its fruits can not be eaten, as they cause severe poisoning.

The blue bugle (Ajúga réptans) Who comes into the forest at the end of spring, immediately pays attention to this plant. Inflorescences have a dense dark blue coloration. Plants, painted in such a color, are no longer in the forest. This plant belongs to the family of labial flowers. Its flowering is short-lived. Dark flowers soon lose color and cease to attract attention. The bugle is a plant that does not remain in one place. Due to the growth of the bine, it is able to move around.

The yellow archangel (Lamium galeobdolon) This plant is especially noticeable during flowering. Light yellow flowers with a two-lipped aureole appear at the end of spring, approximately after the bird cherry bloom. This plant belongs to the family of labial flowers. Flowering is short-lived, about two weeks. In the oak forests of the forest zone, the yellow archangel is often the dominant plant.

The baneberry (Actaea spicata) This is one of the many plants blooming in late spring. The plant is rather tall – its growth is almost knee-deep in man. Flowers are clearly visible, collected in an oval inflorescence. Before us is a representative of the family of Ranunculaceae. Like all buttercups – this plant is poisonous. Fruits can not be eaten, they can be poisoned.

Trientalis europaea. This is a small herbaceous plant. White corolla flowers are clearly visible in the spruce forest. It is very interesting that other blossoming inhabitants of spruce forests have the same coloration of flowers: Wood sorrel, May lily, Pýrola, Linnaea borealis, Goodyera repens, etc. There are almost no bright, colorful flowers in the coniferous forest.

Lily of the Valley May (Convallaria majalis) In late spring – early summer, the plant attracts attention – it has elegant white flowers, similar to porcelain bells. These scented flowers are very good, they have something extraordinarily attractive. Everyone can determine what plant is before him. First comes the peduncle-flower stem with small greenish buds, then the buds turn white, the snow-white flowers gradually unfold. The lily of the valley does not last long, especially in warm weather. By the autumn, the lily-of-the-valley fruit is ripe – orange berries with a pea. Leaves early wither. Lily of the valley is not only a beautiful forest flower – it is also an important medicinal plant.
