It Is Interesting

  • The Slavic word for bison is a short form of the ancient adjective “tooth”. The ancient meaning of the word for tooth was “sharp, protruding object,” which denoted long horns of the bison. Therefore, the Slavic word for bison could be translated as “horny”.
