On the eve of Russia Independence Day, on June 11, 2017, we start Arneyevo Games.
Arneyevo Games are an exciting historical and sport competition, which is organized regularly near Arneyevo village in Serpukhov region. Prioksko-Terrasny Zapovednik is one of the organizers and responsible for environmental education during the games.
This year Arneyevo Games gathered 18 teams from Serpukhov region, Serpukhov itself, town of Protvino, Tula and Moscow. After getting the assignment, rules and map, the participants leave for the trail two teams at a time with a 15-minutes interval. It is a hard and rather tiring trail, which make the participants not only to cross an obstacle zone with a mud puddle and impenetrable thicket, but also to find their way through the forest and to show their wit and knowledge.
The employees of Prioksko-Terrasny Zapovednik and Serpukhov History and Art Museum held a real examination with tricky questions about South Moscow region flora and fauna, as well as about the history of Serpukhov region and the whole country.
The environmental education specialists of our reserve prepared a vast and interesting set of different quizzes about ecology. The ‘examination’ took place on a picturesque clearing in the wood surrounded by shrubs and trees. Some of the questions appeared to be difficult for the participants, but the majority of them new the answers. However, no team gained the maximum of 14 points.
