An exhibition dedicated to bison opened

In the children’s library of the city of Chekhov, a mobile photo exhibition “70 years of the year we save the bison of Russia gene pool” has opened.
The exhibition is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the creation of the Central Bison Nursery on the territory of the Prioksko-Terrasny State Reserve.
The opening of the exhibition took place on October 10, and it will last until December 2018.

The exhibition presents little-known black-and-white photographs from the archive of the reserve and, of course, modern color works.
On the opening day, in the assembly hall of the library, junior high school students gathered together with teachers and parents.

An extensive program has been prepared for the visitors! Specialists from the Department of Environmental Education and Cognitive Tourism of the Prioksko-Terrasny Nature Reserve arrived at the opening. They made a presentation on the history of the reserve, the life of its inhabitants.

The guests also saw overview videos of the documentary film “4 Seasons of the Prioksky Forest”.

Then our employees conducted a quiz on the knowledge of the animal and plant world of the reserve. Listeners became interested in the opportunity to assess their knowledge of wildlife. All those present, both adults and children, were very active in answering difficult quiz questions. And most of the answers were correct. Finally, the children, having broken into teams, raced puzzles with images of bison and buffalo.

Suddenly a bison entered the hall – almost real. He turned out to be an employee of the reserve disguised as a bison doll. Everyone wanted to talk with an amazing guest and, of course, take a picture for memory. Bison appreciated the children’s responses, their participation in games and the most active received prizes from him.
In memory, all those present were handed booklets about the Prioksko-Terrasny Reserve.
